Finding Peace in a Chaotic World

Peace is an important part of life, and it's something that we all strive for. In today's world, it can be difficult to find peace, especially when everything around us seems chaotic. However, there are several different things that you can do to find peace in your life even during the most stressful times. Let these Scriptures offer encouragement.

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You; trust also in the Lord for ever, for in Yahweh, the Lord, is everlasting strength." Isaiah 26:3-4

As you can see, there are many reasons to trust in God—and they all revolve around His character.

Trust in God's word (Hebrews 11:1)

Trust in God's promises (Romans 8:28)

Trust in God's love (John 15:9-13)

Trust in God's power (Jeremiah 32:17; Matthew 19:26)

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice; and be kind to one another. Tenderhearted, forgiving each other even as God in Christ forgave you." -Ephesians 4:31-32

This verse is about forgiveness. Forgiveness does not come easily, but it is a choice that you need to make for yourself and for others. When someone hurts you, it can be tempting to hold on to the pain and anger that they have caused you. But if we hold on too long, our hearts can become bitter and hard like stone. We must choose to forgive so that we can let go of the past and move forward in life with peace in our hearts instead of anger or resentment towards those who have hurt us in the past (and maybe even present).

"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit .For he that in these things serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men." - Romans 14:17-18

You've been so busy running after the things of this world, that you've forgotten what really matters most. Your daily life is filled with work, stress, bills and errands. When was the last time you took some time for yourself? When was the last time you had a sit down with God and just talked to Him about your day? As Christians we need to make sure that our spiritual needs are being met first before we can handle anything else in our lives.

You may think that it's too late for peace in your life because it's already chaotic; but don't worry! God wants us to be at peace no matter what chaos surrounds us on earth. He calls us to perfect peace.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27

The world's definition of peace is different than God's definition, and this can be confusing when you're trying to find peace in your own life. The world says that there are things that will bring you peace: a nice day, a good meal and an abundance of money are all examples of worldly peace. God says that He brings us true, lasting peace—a calm assurance that whatever happens in this life isn't as important as what happens after this life; His eternal presence and love are with us no matter what.

The Bible also teaches us how we can find this true peace through Jesus Christ (John 14:27). When our hearts are troubled and afraid because the world seems chaotic around us, if we trust in Him instead of ourselves or others then He will give us His perfect peace (Philippians 4:7-9).

There are several ways we can find peace in our lives even when the world is crazy around us.

While it can be helpful to plan for the future and reflect on past experiences, we cannot control any of those things at this moment in time. The only thing we can control is our perception of what's happening around us in the present moment. If you're worried about what happens next week or how someone else will perceive you today, it's going to be very difficult to find peace right now!
